I have a soft spot for a good black swimsuit. It’s probably one of the easiest things to pack for a beach trip, and the Clovelly One Piece from Monday Swimwear caught my attention for exactly that reason.
The black and ivory combination is what I noticed first. It gives the swimsuit a little more personality than an all-black one, but it still has that classic feel I usually want from swimwear. I also really like the open back. It makes the whole thing feel a bit more special without adding a lot of extra detail.
The Clovelly has an underwire top and adjustable straps too, which I appreciate because swimwear can look great online and then feel completely different once you actually wear it. The high-leg cut is another detail I like.
I can see myself wearing this with an oversized shirt and sandals when I’m heading to the beach, then taking the shirt off when it’s time for the water. It’s also the kind of swimsuit I’d be happy to wear around a hotel pool without feeling like I need to change before lunch.
The only thing I’d keep in mind is the ivory section. Monday Swimwear notes that the soft ivory shade can be sheer when wet, so that’s definitely something I’d consider before ordering.
But overall, this is the kind of swimsuit I’d happily make room for in my suitcase. It’s classic enough that I wouldn’t expect to get tired of it after one summer, which is probably what I look for most when buying swimwear.
