There’s something about getting a wedding invitation that immediately makes me look at dresses.
I can have absolutely nothing planned, no wedding coming up for months, and still somehow end up saving a dress because I’m thinking, “This would be so pretty for a wedding.”
And then, when I actually do have somewhere to go, I suddenly feel like I have nothing to wear.
So lately, I’ve been trying to save dresses that I can actually picture myself wearing, rather than just pretty ones that look good in a photo. These are a few that have caught my attention lately.
The Pretty Yellow One
The Anabelle Halter Neck Lace Maxi Dress in Butter Yellow from Petal & Pup is probably the first one I’d save.
The color immediately caught my eye. It has that soft yellow shade that feels especially nice for a daytime or summer wedding, and the lace gives it a little more detail than a plain maxi dress.
I also like that the shape isn't overly complicated. It has a sleeveless design, a high neckline and a long skirt, so the dress itself does most of the work.
I’d keep everything else pretty simple with this one. Small earrings, a simple bag and shoes that don’t compete with the dress.
Honestly, this is the kind of dress I’d save even if I didn't have a wedding invite yet.
Something With Florals
I always end up looking at floral dresses when wedding season comes around.
The Betina Bow Front Maxi Dress in Brown Floral from Petal & Pup is one I really like because the print feels a little different from the usual light pink and pastel floral dresses.
The brown base makes it feel a bit more grown-up, while the floral print keeps it from looking too serious. I could see this working really well for an outdoor wedding or even an evening event.
And I really like the bow detail at the front. It gives the dress something interesting without needing a lot of accessories.
This is probably the one I'd choose if I wanted something feminine but didn't want to wear another pastel dress.
